Carbon Footprints at Sea

Never expected to be made so aware of ecological standards on a vacation. Who knew this was ecotourism , being on a transAtlantic voyage. I had been interested in the difference between today's and yesterday's mariners. The sense of adventure and meeting new challenges is there, but the  constant focus on environmental impact is a profound difference. Of course it is worthwhile, but it is obvious that it is good business sense.
all the efficiences reduce fuel consumption.
    You know i counted 8 instruction in my cabin alone such as closing the curtains when possible. Even provided a dual wastebasket for recycling...very cool...HAL has reduced fuel consumption by 2% since 2005. So-headed down to the battery dropoff site now - cause I've been playing a lot of tunes while I sail along.
